Certificate in Computer and Network Security

Certificate in Wireless Networks and Technology

(12 credit hours)

Certificate Admissions Requirements
Admission to our certificate programs is open to anyone, and non-degree seeking students may enroll and take courses through the process outlined on the Center for Advanced Engineering and Technology Education (CAETE) website.  Current degree students may also complete certificates as part of their studies in our Master's degree programs.

Students entering the certificate programs should be professionally familiar with data networks and/or telecommunications networks.  Familiarity with security procedures or at least one wireless system would also be an advantage.

If students lack the professional or educational background, they should take the following courses and pass with a 3.0 GPA or better before enrolling in either certificate program:

TLEN 5330 Data Communications
TLEN 5460 Telecommunications Systems Lab

Application Instructions

  1. Complete the ITP Certification Application Form and return it to the ITP Office.
  2. Complete the applicable registration forms available on the CAETE website. 

Certificate Granting Requirements
Students who have completed and passed four courses with a minimum 3.0 GPA per the course lists required for the certificates are eligible to receive the certificate, however, students must write a letter or email to the ITP Associate Director prior to the completion of the fourth course that they intend to apply towards the certificate.
